Major General (Retired) Thomas B. Arwood was born October 7, 1934, in Toledo, OH and received his bachelors of Science degree from Bowling Green State University. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. His military education includes Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Quartermaster Officers Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Foreign Advisor School, Air Force War College, and General Officer Orientation Course.

Major General (Retired) Thomas B. Arwood has served in a number of key command and staff positions.  Among notable assignments include:Platoon Leader, Rifle and Weapons Platoon, Co C, 38^th Infantry, 2^nd Infantry Division, Fort Benning GA.  Following that he served as Company Commander, HQ Company, Quartermaster School, Fort Lee, VA. He served in numerous assignments at Fort Campbell, KY to include, Executive Officer, Eagle Support Brigade, Fort Campbell, KY, Battalion Commander, 561^st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Campbell, KY, G-4, 101^st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. Next, he served as a Logistics Staff Officer, HQ DA, Army General Staff, Pentagon, DA Manager for World Wide reserves & Equipment Readiness; He commanded the Division Support Command (DISCOM), 8^th Infantry Division, V Corps, USAREUR, Bad Kreuznach, Germany.  Following his Command, he served as the G4, V Corps, USAREUR, Frankfort, Germany. As a General Officer, he Commanded the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Command, battle Creek, MI, and also 3d Support Command, V Corps, USAREUR, Wiesbaden, Germany, with added duty as CG, Wiesbaden Military Community. Following this assignemnt, he served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics/G3, US Army materiel Command. In April, 1993, Major General Thomas B. Arwood retired after 34 years of active service.

Among other decorations, Major General (Retired) Thomas B. Arwood is authorized the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, , the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Humanity Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (with Four Stars), the Overseas Service Medal, the Vietnam Distinguished Unit Citation, the Army Meritorious Unit Citation, German Cross in Gold. He also wears the Army General Staff Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
