Command Sergeant Major Tucker’s key assignments include: Command Sergeant Major, 17th Area Support Group, Camp Zama, Japan; Command Sergeant Major, 13th Corps Support Command, Fort Hood; Command Sergeant Major, Joint Task Force Support Command, Somalia, Africa; Command Sergeant Major, 23rd Area Support Group, Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea; and Command Sergeant Major, 5th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Polk. CSM Tucker served as Command Sergeant Major in five different units. His impact in each unit is well documented. As CSM of 171st Support Group, he served as CSM of Camp Zama, the largest Army Installation in Japan, with over 20 tenant units/activities and more than 5,000 US and Japanese civilians. In Somalia, he served as the Joint Task Force Leader and Command Sergeant Major. This command was comprised of a multi-service command responsible for operating the sea and airports of entry, providing all classes of supply, transportation, maintenance and medical service.
