Wilcoxson 09/11/1997 – Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division complete their jump from an U.S. Air Force C-17 at Sicily drop zone at Fort Bragg, North Carolina . They, along with other soldiers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are part of Exercise Central Asian Battalion (CENTRAZBAT) 97. CENTRAZBAT is a multinational exercise being conducted in both the United States and the three former Soviet republics. The participants will conduct combined airborne operations, weapons training, and cultural activities in order to set the conditions for a successful Partnership for Peace exercise.
