Colonel Greg Townsend earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from Auburn University and commissioned through ROTC in 1996 in the Quartermaster Corps. His career spanned a variety of impactful assignments including: Company Executive Officer and Brigade Staff Officer, Southern Euro- pean Command, Vincenza, Italy; Battalion Operations Officer, 407th Forward Support Battalion; with 2nd Brigade Combat Team to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Joint Chiefs of Staff Internship Program, then Joint Staff, J3, Joint Operations Division and Department of the Army Staff, Logistics Readiness Division, Washington, D.C.; Battalion Executive Officer, 307th Brigade Support Battalion and Brigade S4, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Air- borne Division, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Secretary of the General Staff for 82nd Airborne Division; Deputy Chief of Staff for Regional Command South in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom and Battalion Commander, Group Support Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Carson, Colorado.
