Background
Bob enlisted in the Army in JUL 1964. After Basic Training immediately entered the Infantry Branch and then completed Airborne School at FT Benning, GA. Graduated from Infantry Officer Candidate School in 1966 as a distinguished graduate. Served in these combat arms units- the 82d Airborne Division (included one combat tour 1965-1966), the 5th Special Forces Group (one combat tour 1968-1969 Vietnam), the 10th Special Forces Group, and the 509th Airborne Battalion Combat Team stationed in Vicenza, Italy. He served a four-year tour on the Army Staff and as an Infantry and Special Forces Training Coordinator for Army Reserve Component units.
Quartermaster assignments include Deputy Director, Materiel, 3D Corps Support Command in Wiesbaden, Germany; the Office of Plans and Policy at the Headquarters, Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, VA; Brigade and Battalion level S4, and Director of Logistics 543rd Area Support Group and the Military Community in Bremerhaven Germany.
Bob retired from the Army in 1992 and immediately entered the defense contract industry. He worked primarily in Army and defense logistics contract areas as an Analyst and Program Manager in the areas of Army logistics information systems modernization, policy development, doctrine, contract support to Army Schools for logistics Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training, and defense contract business development to include proposal writing and proposal management. He continues to consult in proposal development on an on-call basis.
